Getting Pregnant

  • I find a comfortable position. I quiet myself and notice my breath. If I am lying down I let my body sink into the bed and my eyes get heavy. I relax my body and invite God’s presence to be with me. I let His presence wash over me. I ask God to lead me in this Examen.

  • I thank God for the blessings he has given me today. I give him gratitude for my body. I take note of each breath and I thank him for each one. I continue to draw breath naturally, relaxing at each exhale.

  • I lift up my fears to him about getting pregnant. I submit my emotions to him. I meditate on His promises. Those he gave to Rachel, Sarah, Rebekah and Hannah.

  • My body is made strong and capable. I ask for strength and health from the Lord. If I am unwell I ask God to heal me. I listen to my body’s needs and care for it. My body is a safe space to grow a baby. I ask for His peace and presence to surround me.

I speak gratitude over my supportive family, friends and partner. I think of positive affirmations from them and ask God to continue to use them to support me in this journey.

  • I commit tomorrow into God’s hands. I quiet myself and listen to what God might be leading me towards for tomorrow. I surrender my fears to him and rest knowing that He is enough for me.

  • I speak this verse over me and end in my usual way: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 4:14 NIV)
